I realised during 2nd year that my subject was very fast paced and new things were happening everyday, it would be impossible for me to stick to one medium and one area of feminism. Instead I tried to stay in the ‘now’ and create when things came to me in the form of news, books, articles or everyday things that I saw or heard.
After heavily relying on statistics about sexism I found in books and online in order to create my zines, I felt it was crucial to use more than just statistics to uphold my practice. This, combined with difficulties in producing my zines in mass, pushed me to seek out different practices to use in my work such as bookbinding, risograph making and letterpressing, which ultimately lead to me creating 5 books for my practice and a whole collection of Risographs.
Ultimately I really liked the initial ideas that making zines gave to me and enjoyed creating them, however I felt that they looked quite static and not professional enough.
